The Shadow Commander
Qassem Suleimani is the Iranian operative who has been reshaping the Middle East.
Now he’s directing Assad’s war in Syria.
Suleimani was the head of Iran’s Quds Force, the “most powerful operative in the Middle East today.”
“There will be ten people in a room, and when Suleimani walks in he doesn’t come and sit with you.
He sits over there on the other side of room, by himself, in a very quiet way.
Doesn’t speak, doesn’t comment, just sits and listens.
And so of course everyone is thinking only about him.”
In a speech, one Iranian cleric said:
“If we lose Syria, we cannot keep Tehran.”
Suleimani told us:
“The Iranians would do whatever was necessary”
“We’re not like the Americans.
We don’t abandon our friends.”
El ministro iraní de Defensa, el general Amir Hatami, también prometió este viernes que se vengará de “todos los que están detrás del asesinato”.
“He’s running the war himself.”
Meir Dagan, the former head of Mossad, told me:
“He is what I call politically clever.
He has a relationship with everyone.”
“He gets up at four every morning, and he’s in bed by nine-thirty every night”
Excomandante de la Guardia Revolucionaria de Irán:
“Nos vengaremos de Estados Unidos”
